Around the corner.
The cherry blossoms are out on the streets near where I grew up.
So beautiful. So fleeting.
There, around the corner from my home, were the cherry blossom trees. The trees I'd forgotten about. The trees I'd hadn't seen recently, now, in these two weeks when the cherry blossoms were at their most magnificent.
There had been torrential rain today, several thunderous showers. The rain had washed most of the blossoms off the trees. They were carpeting the street. The cars. The steps. Pink snow drifts.
So beautiful. So fleeting. So near where I am.
I had been thinking about how I'd been lucky enough to be up there a few times in the last couple of weeks, when they were in full bloom.
Here, I'd barely left my flat. When I did I walked the same direction every time. Today I finally went for a walk around the block at around 9pm, my first time outside today.
