Solus street art solo exhibition
Solus, an up-and-coming Irish street artist, has his first solo exhibition running in Temple Bar until Monday 22nd August. It's entitled 'Mis-Spent Youth (Call The Cops)' and is in the No Grants Gallery in the venue recently renamed The Culture Box.

I took some photos at the launch on the 4th August.

Having met Solus, this is probably a nod at a self-portrait:

We ended up going home with the first of these paintings:

Also like the way he signs them on the side.
Solus did a version of this piece as one of the graffiti artists at the Kings of Concrete festival in July:

I've been noticing street art by Solus around Dublin for the last 18 months or so. This was one of his paste-ups in April 2010 – Che Guevara crossed with Margaret Thatcher?

These have occupied a spot near the Grand Canal where he's painted a couple of times:

Worth catching the exhibition before it closes on Monday. While his work is at a fairly early stage, Solus has produced some interesting ideas and I'm looking forward to following his continuing development as an artist.
